The Art of Annemarie Masson | Feb. 2019

A project of the non profit the Warehouse Arts District Association, the ArtsXchange contains 25+ rent controlled studios as well as a monthly rotating gallery space.

I have had the pleasure of working with artists and organizations of national and international recognition including Ulla Wobst, Tom Kiefer, Christina Bertsos, and Valentino Dixon. Arts events at the Xchange range from private financial seminars and culinary experiences to theatre and dance performances. The spaces’ versatility makes for a dynamic and exciting work environment.

Ulla Wobst

An Italian TV spread via Spoleto Arte TGCom24 on German surrealist painter Ulla Wobst featuring photos from her exhibition “Essentials of Human Existence” curated by Bailey Gumienny at ArtsXchange St. Pete. Photos can be see at 00:45

Soft Water Studios is a fine art studio and 2,000 square foot gallery locally owned and operated in the Warehouse Arts District of St. Petersburg, FL.

In comparison to the ArtsXchange, Soft Water Studios is a more intimate studio environment with only 5 professional mid career artists sharing the space. Despite the laidback nature of the work space, I’ve had the honor of curating group shows where we have exhibited work from nationally and internationally known artists such as Keisuke Teshima (aka One Stroke Dragon), Emily Marie Miller, and Angela Faustina. As the only official staff member aside from the owner and my mentor Carrie Jadus, I got to wear many hats. From working one on one with the resident studio artists, to photographing the gallery and handling administrative tasks, I’m more than familiar with gallery operations and have experience both selling and creating art.
